So just to get it out of the way: nope, no news on Afterlife Blues or anything like that. I wish I had something for you, but I don't.

However, I could share with you a bit of fanfiction I wrote for it a while back, if anyone is interested? Or indeed, still on LiveJournal at all this late in the day?

Also, does it count as fanfiction if the artist writes it? I feel like that question has been brought up before around here.

I'm interested in it!
I'm still here and interested in anything you do!

But I have to say that what I want more than anything else is A Miracle of Science, Volume 2 in print. Volume 1 is lonely on my bookshelf :( It's still one of my favorite webcomics of all time, and I want to preserve it for future generations. I understand if it's hard to find time for a webcomic that finished years ago with all of the other projects and challenges in your life, but I'm sure I'm not the only fan yearning for this.
I didn't even realize there was a print version. Note I know what to ask for for my birthday!
I'd echo this - I would love to buy the second volume as well. Please?

I define "fanfiction" as "a work of fiction including characters/settings that the author does not have permission to use." So unless you and Jon already agreed to allow solo works, your thing probably is fanfiction. Until he sees it and says "I'm cool with it", at which point it immediately stops being fanfiction (see Jim Davis publishing Garfield Minus Garfield).
