That's the bottom half of the 96-story Trump International Hotel and Tower which is currently going up like a mofo in downtown Chicago. (And hey, I just found out that the Chicago Spire is officially under construction. This is a good time for architecture in this town.)
I took advantage of this day off work to go shopping in Lakeview and take in Live Free or Die Hard at a theater downtown. I'd been preparing for the event by watching the first three Die Hard movies on DVD over the last couple of days, and yes, I'm well aware that there's always the potential of setting oneself up for disappointment when anticipating a movie like this. The verdict?
I am well pleased, and the rest of the audience was, too. Two thumbs up. My lately-flagging faith in action films is restored!
